Rolls-Royce confirms methanol engine development
Rolls-Royce Power Solutions is developing methanol internal combustion engines for vessels ‘right now’, Applications engineer Peter Gommeringer told a technical webinar held by the Workboat Association on Tuesday.
“We believe in methanol for high-speed and long-range applications,” he said. “Energy density is about half that of diesel, better than most of the alternatives.”
