All American Marine and ABB have announced a partnership to develop a cutting-edge hybrid workboat designed for ocean sampling and hydrographic surveys in Southern California.

The 19.2-metre hybrid-electric catamaran will support the Orange County Sanitation District’s (OC San) Ocean Monitoring Program, ensuring safe waters for marine life, swimming, and fishing.

ABB’s hybrid-electric propulsion system will power the vessel, aligning with California’s strict zero-emission mandates, requiring at least 30% of annual energy from zero-emission sources.
