Barge order and new tug news from Boa Offshore

Boa's new barge will have a cargo capacity of approximately 57500t (Boa Offshore)

Norway-based Boa Offshore has continued with its fleet expansion plans following delivery of an ice-classed tug and confirmation of the order for a ‘Next Generation’ semi-submersible barge.

Transporting heavy objects on semi-submersible barges and ships, the so-called ‘dry-tow’ method, is becoming increasingly popular, the sector seeing an increase in the number of new-build self-propelled vessels falling into this category.
