Van Oord ‘regrets’ oil spill after dredger hits tanker

Oil spill

Marine contractor Van Oord says it ‘regrets’ an incident in which its Vox Maxima dredger allided with the bunker vessel Marine Honour, rupturing an oil cargo tank and spilling the contents overboard.

A major clean-up has been under way since the incident happened, with absorbent booms, high-pressure water jets and skimmer craft deployed to rectify the situation.
