Thames tug Chiefton capsizes in a tragic accident

The ill fated Chiefton is cradled in the slings of the floating sheerlegs GPS Apollo shortly after the parbuckling operation to bring it upright.

During the morning of Friday 12 August, the tug Chiefton capsized and sank on the river Thames while towing the crane barge Skyline near Convoys Wharf, a short distance from Greenwich Pier.
