Underwater gliders to survey 200m North Sea depths

Green Marine UK teams up with UKs National Oceanography Centre to deploy cutting-edge underwater gliders

A data collection exercise is being led in the North Sea by the UK National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and Met Office to ‘dramatically improve the collection and distribution of data supporting both weather and ocean forecasts, which are vital for vessels operating in the territory’.

Subsea gliders will be used to survey depths of 200 metres over a period of three years.
