EU calls for critical cable security upgrade

Critical subsea cables will be protected in a raft of measures being drawn up, the European Commission has said in response to a recent spate of suspected sabotage incidents.

“No realm of life is free from threats or hostile behaviour today,” said Kaja Kallas, high representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy with the European Commission and also EC vice president.
