Said to help reduce noise and vibration carried both through the air and the vessel structure, the Sikafloor range is designed to make it considerably more comfortable for crew members on board.

The two-component, fire retarding polyurethane Sikafloor Marine PU-Red is part of the range of products that form the Sikafloor visco-elastic systems and visco-elastic floating floors to reduce noise and vibration carried through the air and the vessel structure.

Absorbing structure-borne noise, Sikafloor Marine PU-Red can be applied to floors and bulkheads to provide noise and vibration damping. Creating a multi-layer system before the deck finish materials are applied, the mortar based product Sikafloor Marine 18 can be used as a constrained layer on top of Sikafloor Marine PU-Red. This deck covering can be walked on after just 24 hours of application, to ensure minimal disruption to the crew and passengers onboard.

Additionally, the range includes systems that specifically absorb airborne noise, such as Sikafloor Litosilo Steel which comprises of an insulating layer covered by a steel plate, Sikafloor Marine PU-Red, and another steel plate on top. According to the latest IMO testing standards, Sikafloor Litosilo Steel is A60 Class fire approved.

There is also the option to select a combination floor, designed to reduce both structure-borne and airborne noise.
