Crew unhurt after vessel sinks and liferaft capsizes

A report into the sinking of a fishing vessel off the Shetland Islands has revealed a string of flaws that miraculously did not lead to any crew being injured.

An empty wheelhouse, inaccessible life jackets and a liferaft capsizing were all factors that could have led to serious consequences in the collision of two fishing trawlers, the MAIB has reported.
