The Coastal Chariot, built by Maritiem Cluster Friesland (MCF) in only 12 months, is a DP1 MPV 3512. It’s the fourth vessel in Acta’s fleet to be equipped with dynamic positioning and the third vessel custom built by MCF for Acta.

Dynamic positioning makes this vessel particularly suited to ultra shallow waters and working very close to coastlines. Acta claims to be the first owner/operator to deploy DP on smaller type workboats.

Coastal Chariot is also equipped with two 2,380kW engines driving fixed pitch propellers, two 250kW azimuthing bow thrusters.

It has more than 35 tonnes bollard pull and is kitted out with a 80 tonne anchor handling winch and 310 tonne hydraulic deck crane.

Following its first project, the vessel will be deployed on dredging and geotechnical projects and offshore windfarm construction works.

The company’s multicat fleet has a track record of being some of the most fuel efficient DP vessels in the market.

Acta opened a new office in Paris last month in a bid to enhance its workboat support services for French customers.
