Foul-Release Coatings Manufacturer to Offer Demonstrations About Prevention of Corrosion April 27-30, 2023, at the Superyacht Village in the Refit and Repair Area, Stand RR01-RR02
Auckland, New Zealand – Propspeed, leading innovator of underwater foul-release coatings, announced its attendance at the Palma International Boat Show. The Palma International Boat Show is scheduled to be held April 27-30, 2023, in Palma’s Moll Vell. Representatives from Propspeed will be located at the Superyacht Village in the Refit and Repair Area, Stand RR01-RR02, where visitors will be able to attend demonstrations showing how to prevent corrosion to propellers and underwater running gear, while protecting the marine environment.
“The Palma International Boat Show is an important event on the calendar and Propspeed are excited to be back,” said Matt Forbes, Sales Director – EMEA, Propspeed. “The audience of this show is so passionate and knowledgeable about all things boating. The corrosion demonstration tank will be at the show to highlight the importance of understanding the factors that contribute to coating performance, asset protection and environmental impact. Stripspeed will debut at the show and is quickly being adopted by the professional application network in Europe.“
Developed to help Propspeed applicators prepare metal surfaces for reapplication, Stripspeed removes foul-release coatings in 30-minutes or less. There is no mixing required and its thick consistency easily hangs on vertical and overhead surfaces, making it easy to use. Stripspeed is non-flammable, non-caustic, DCM- and NMP-free, and doesn’t create toxic dusts or debris. Unlike grinding or using abrasives, Stripspeed doesn’t cause mechanical wear through multiple refits, increasing the lifetime of the metal.
Propspeed recently joined forces with Marine Protection Systems (MPS) to create their Corrosion Protection Tank. The Corrosion Protection Tank demonstrates how Propspeed’s two-part coating system can reduce the risk of corrosion by electrically isolating the metal and limiting exchanges between ions and gases contained in the water and the metal.
Propspeed products include Propspeed for running gear and any underwater metals, Foulfree for transducers, Lightspeed for underwater lighting and Stripspeed for easy preparation of surfaces for coating application, the perfect combination for refit season.
