UK commits to record spending on flood defences

The UK government has committed £2.65 billion (€3.2 billion) to flood defences over two years as part of its ‘Plan for Change’.

Up to 1,000 projects will share the cash, and more than 66,000 properties will benefit from this funding, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) said.
