Eemshaven named as OranjeWind base port

RWE and TotalEnergies have chosen the port of Eemshaven in the northern Dutch province of Groningen as the hub for turbine assembly and construction work for their joint offshore wind project, OranjeWind

The OranjeWind joint venture has signed an agreement with Buss Terminal Eemshaven to enable the offloading, storage and pre-assembly of turbine components and inter-array cabling for the project slated to being in early 2026.

Once operational, OranjeWind is expected to generate around 3 terawatt hours of green electricity each year, enough to power more than one million Dutch households.
