Both vessels ‘stable’ after North Sea collision

‘Small pockets of fire’ were still burning on the Solong cargo ship last night, as both it and Stena Immaculate were being stabilised off the northeast England coast.

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch will lead the investigation into the incident, ‘to establish the navigational practices on board both vessels; the manning and fatigue management; the condition and maintenance of the vessels involved; and the environmental conditions at the time.”
