Wales government backs tidal energy scheme

Inyanga

A first-of-its-kind tidal scheme has been given Welsh government backing in the form of an £8 million (€9.6 million) equity stake.

Twenty HydroWing turbines by the firm Inyanga will generate 20MW of electricity in what is being called the largest consented tidal energy scheme in Europe, covering an area of 35km2 of seabed.
