Sri Lanka to prepare tenders for offshore wind

Sri Lanka is about to issue tenders for offshore wind projects, the Sri Lankan newspaper The Morning has reported, with ‘an ambitious’ roadmap drawn up by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP).

The roadmap identifies two of Sri Lanka’s four major ports – Colombo and Hambantota – as suitable to support the installation of bottom-fixed offshore wind farms ‘with only minor upgrades’.
