Danish blow to offshore wind as auction fails

No bids have been received for a potential 3GW of offshore wind projects in Denmark just two years after a similar bidding round failed in the UK.

In response to the failure of Auction Round 6 in the UK, the government was forced to raise the energy cap so that this year’s round attracted some developers – a move that may have to be replicated in Denmark before the bidding deadline for a second batch of projects expires in April 2025.
