CTruk celebrate another successful show
CTruk have reported a busy Seawork International 2014 with keen interest in both vessels on the pontoon; the brand new CTruk 20T MPC ‘Ocean Warrior’, which was officially named during the event, and the first-in-class CTruk THOR 11m twin-hull force protection craft.
The Brightlingsea (UK) based company also took enquiries for its new 22m OWSV design, CTruk EVOC22, the first of which is currently in build at CTruk’s Essex yard. Three ex-Royal Marines signed agreements on day one of Seawork to take the first EVOC22 under offshore wind solutions provider CWind’s boat share scheme.
Ben Simpson, MD, commented on the company’s fourth participation at the show, “Three days well spent again at Seawork International in Southampton. The show is living up to its name with a growing international visitor base as well as continuing to be the annual gathering of the UK commercial marine community. This year we saw a boosted MoD attendance too, so we can meet buyers from a cross-section of the marine industry here, making it well worth the investment.”
Expanding on that MoD presence, Al Stangroom, who heads up CTruk’s military and security business development, added, “Seawork International 2014 proved to be a great venue for CTruk from a military and security perspective. There is nothing quite like having an eye-catching boat like the CTruk THOR FPC available on the pontoon for viewings and live demonstrations to impress visitors and reinforce our marketing message. Seawork represents an opportunity to meet with key decision makers in the MoD as well as other agencies and companies in a vibrant maritime atmosphere. Momentum has built and we are actively pursuing some very strong leads“.
CTruk originally planned to bring the second 20m CTruk SWATH OWSV to the show, but due to contractual demands CWind Endurance could not attend. Offshore wind solutions provider CWind recently announced that the vessel, delivered in March 2014 and already lauded for smooth crew transits even in rough seas, will support technicians on a cable pull-in contract for Technip on Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm.
